DENTAL BONDING

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental Bonding is the procedure in which a tooth-colored, putty-like resin is applied to the tooth and then shaped and hardened into the desired shape and size by ultraviolet light, adhering the material to the tooth. Followed by polishing the tooth to match the shade of the rest of your teeth.

Why would I need Dental Bonding?

Typically a patient would consider dental bonding because it’s a simple solution to

  • Fix chipped, cracked, or broken teeth

  • Correct a gap between teeth

  • Or perhaps if one tooth is significantly different in size, bonding can be used to reshape a tooth to a desired size, shape and even color.

  • More recently, bonding is used to fill cavities, instead of the traditional way of a silver filling, dental bonding can be made to match the color of your teeth, making the filling less visible.

This procedure is usually a quick fix, requiring only one dental visit to be completed.
